Discover the Flower Power Experience!

Traveling with a Campervan is different from regular camping. To benefit from your Campervan hire opportunities and advantages to the fullest and to completely enjoy the "Flower Power Experience" we have listed a number of tips & tricks that have proven worthwhile:

Tip 1

Do not plan the entire trip, let it happen. Just drive, relax and enjoy the scenery. Ended up in a sweet spot? Well, stay around a bit until like you feel it is time to move on.

Tip 2

Don't rush things and don't make to many kilometers. Wanna go to Italy or Spain, great idea, but take it easy. Don't drive more than 100/200 kilometers a day (preferably less). Leave in the morning and find your spot early afternoon which will leave you the rest of the day to relax and spend it on fun things. 

Tip 3

Make use of the thousands of camper van parking spots. In Europe there are loads of specially designed and equipped camper van spots where you can spend the night for a few euros. 

Besides the financial advantages, it is good to know that many of these camper van spots are generally located close to town centers or other touristically interesting sites. Campings are usually larger, located a bit further away from the action and more suitable for longer stays. 

Tip 4

'Wild' camping. Most of the times it's possible to put your camper van in that one special spot, but there are a few conditions : the owner has to be ok with it. Ask his/her permission before you set up shop and check if there are any special conditions. Sometimes it's possible to get electricity and/or water as well. You'll see that generally people are very welcoming and open minded, especially towards compact camper vans. People always appreciate it if visitors take an interest in their region, lifestyle etc. 

Flower Power Experience is a member of the "France Passion" organisation which allows you to park the camper van and spend the night for free on the property of wine makers, olive oil producers and other farmers. A great way to discover local produce!

Please be careful if you want to spend the night on parkings of the motorways. Don't try to find too much of a quiet spot there, we recommend to "stay in sight"

Tip 5

If you want to have dinner in a restaurant it is quite often allowed to spend the night on its parking, but do check beforehand please. If you prefer to cook your own dinner, you could park at a supermarket or a shopping center. The fridge and kitchen are small but big enough for a good meal and a glass!

Tip 6

Take bikes! These are for hire (+ a bike rack) with our T3 and T4 models. The advantage of a compact camper van is being very mobile, however truly discovering a region and its treasures is done on foot and by bike. 

Tip 7

Take a BBQ, for hire at Flower Power Experience. But beware, not all camp sites allow barbecues. Please check before you set up.
